Its not about the caliber of players or even the age of these retired players. Cs has been around since 1999 and i cant think of a single time pro players have retired in mass like we se now. Maybe when csgo came out and the 1.6 players gave up.

My stats were 0-0-3. When i saw my rank, I was still Gold Nova 2. I quit CSGO, then went back on 4 Hours later. I was now Gold Nova 1. I am very confused how this happened because I did not play CSGO in those 4 hours.
